Q I have moved in and I heard it is a custom to make courtesy visits to say hello. Which places should I go?

A If you move into a house, you should go to 3 houses in opposition and both houses next door (as there is a Japanese saying "3 opposites and both sides"). If it is an apartment, you should visit rooms on both sides and up/down stairs (the places that can hear any noise you may make), and also visit the landlord. When you visit, it is recommended to go with your whole family because they can get to know your family structure and have a good impression of you.
