The Japanese Drugstore Chain Association defines the type of drug store
which may carry medication, cosmetics, daily necessaries, stationeries,
films, and foods. Japanese drugstores used to sell only commercial medicines
and did not have any pharmacists on the premises. However, some drugstores
have recently started employing pharmacists. This is now not much of difference
between drugstores and pharmacies.
