Pre-school education is conducted in kindergartens and it usually covers
the children whose age is from 3 to 5. The number of kindergartens in Fukui
prefecture is as follows; 1 national kindergarten, 99 public ones, and
32 private ones with the total number of 132 (as of May 1, 2002).
Application for public kindergartens must be filed at the city hall or
the town and village office. Application for national and private ones
must be filed at the kindergarten where applicants want to enroll their
child/children. In both cases, applicants must bring certificates of alien
registration for their child/children.
通常就学前教育は、満３歳から小学校就学までの５歳を対象とし、幼稚園で行なわれます。県内の幼稚園数は、国立１、公立９９、私立３２の計１３２園です。（平成１４年５月１日現在）
申し込みは、公立の場合は、市町村役場または、国立・私立の場合は希望する幼稚園にしてください。申し込みの際は、子どもの外国人登録証明書を持参してください。

A nursery school is an educational facility which brings up infants aged
zero to preschool whose guardians cannot bring them up at home owing to
their work or illness, etc. The number of nursery schools in Fukui Prefecture
is as follows; 176 public nursery schools and 108 private ones with the
total number of 284.
A nursery school is an educational facility with primary purpose is bringing up infants ※"who cannot be brought up" based on Child Welfare Law. The distinguishing feature of childcare in nursery schools lies in the integration of protective care and education.
Infants (infants aged zero to preschool children) spend their most crucial
period of life in which the foundation of lifetime character is laid in
Nursery school. Therefore, "Nursery school childcare guidelines"
describe basic principles of direction and viewpoints for child rearing.
Other than regular childcare, various types of childcare have been provided
such as extension of operating hours for the benefit of working parents,
childcare of handicapped children, etc.
In Fukui Prefecture, ※ "The Secondary Angel Plan for Children in Fukui" has been laid down in order to promote a social environment where parents can raise their children more easily. This plan has supported child raising in local communities dealing with extensive aspects of children and families in Fukui Prefecture. For application, please bring your child/children's certificates of alien registration. Application for public nursery schools must be filed at the city hall or the town and village office. Application for private nursery schools must be filed at the nursery school where applicants want to enroll their child/children.
保育所は、保護者が仕事や病気等の理由により家庭で保育できない０歳から小学校就学前の乳幼児を保育する施設です。県内の保育所数は公立１７６、私立１０８の計２８４です。
保育所は、児童福祉法に基づき※｢保育に欠ける」乳幼児を保育することを目的とする施設です。保育所での保育は、養護と教育が一体となったところに特徴があります。
保育所は、乳幼児（０才から就学前までの児童）が生涯の人間形成の基礎を培う大事な時期であることから、「保育所保育指針」の中で保育の方向性や視点についての基本的事項が示されています。
また、子どもを預ける保護者の就労支援のために、時間を延長しての保育や障害児の保育など通常の保育以外にも様々な保育を実施しています。
福井県では、子どもを生み育てやすい環境を社会全体で進めていくために※「第二次ふくいっ子エンゼルプラン」を策定しており、子どもや家庭に関わる幅広い分野を対象に地域における子育て支援を進めています。申し込みの際は、子どもの外国人登録証明書を持参してください。申し込みは、公立の場合は、市町村役場、私立の場合は希望する保育所にしてください。
